Continuing education requirements for Next Generation Science Standards present an additional encumbrance for classroom teachers who are already burdened in many ways. The Center is ready to help fill this training gap with continuing education opportunities provided at no cost.

This virtual workshop and livestream event focused on assessment for Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Participants explored the relevancy and authenticity of agriculture and learned why agricultural literacy is important to society. Guest speakers from the agricultural community shared their experiences to reinforce disciplinary core ideas (DCIs) and science and engineering practices (SEPs) and provided a real-world perspective.

Designed to address Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), this virtual workshop livestream event focused on using agriculture to increase the relevancy and authenticity of content in science classrooms.
Participants focused on three-dimensional learning; specifically, using anchoring phenomena to drive student sense-making and problem solving. Disciplinary core ideas were reinforced through guest speakers from the agricultural community that apply these concepts on a daily basis.
